''Early Years in Hawaii'''
Koshi Band is an Electro-Grunge alternative Nepali rock group in the
United States. The band was originated in downtown Honolulu, Hawaii
in the fall of 1995. A wild party at former drummer Stanley's house
turned into a creation of musical group, the band Koshi. The band's
official web site is http://www.KoshiMusic.com.
Prior to 2005, the band played neo alternative rock music in English
only and established a solid American fan-base from the first album
"In Mistletoe Garden". The band offered the songs freely online at
http://www.KoshiMusic.com and had received over 110,000 downloads
since 2003 thru 2008. The band's songs are still being aired on the
Hawaiian TV Channel 55, 97.5 KPOI, Crater 94, KTUH to name a few.
Koshi band toured Hawaiian islands, west coast, east coast and was
originally managed under Tonori Productions.

When the composer, and the band's vocalist, Rajan moved to Omaha,
Nebraska in the summer of 2005 after parting from his girlfriend Mar
from Spain, he started writing songs in Nepali. Rajan came to visit
his family members, and relatives in Omaha.
New band members joined the group giving a new musical twist. This
time the band members were all from Nepal. The band wrote debuted
Nepali alternative songs "Ashish". New Nepali and English songs are
still being recorded at Koshi Studio and the tracks are being
compiled in their second album called "Love and tragedy". The band
is determined not to stop composing songs in English in order to
maintain their American fan base who have supported them for a
decade. The band's producer is Rajan's younger brother, Nirajan Rai,
who is the co-founder of NirvanaCareer.com and currently managing
their album production from Sydney, Australia. The band is sponsored
by NirvanaCareer.com
Koshi actively performed in Honolulu, Kaneohe, California, Nebraska,
New York, New Jersey, Nebraska, Chicago, Iowa, and Washington DC
along with professional Nepali artists such as Deepak Bajracharya
Band, Mukti & Revival, and Harish Mathema. The band had interviews
and was featured on Nepalisite.com, Murchunga.com,
CyberSansar.com, DCNepal.com and ANAYC.org

Most Memorable Moment:
During American Nepalese Association in New York '06, While we were
singing one of our Nepali songs "timi ko hau", Kalpu's bhenaju came
and said.. "bhaiharu.. can you sing some of your nepali songs too?"
